After 21 1/2 hours of great music and passionate appeals, the 2010 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon raised $58,919,838 in contributions and pledges were made to advance the research and service programs of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Hosted by Alison Sweeney and Nancy O'Dell, the telethon featured performances by David Archuleta, Enrique Iglesias, and the four winners of Clear Channel Radio's "Get Discovered" contest.
The "Get Discovered" contest gave independent and unsigned music artists an opportunity to submit their music via participating Clear Channel Radio station websites or iheartradio.com for a chance to perform live during the telethon. Approximately 925 unique artists and bands entered the contest with close to 1,500 songs submitted.
